Wine Promotions

Steven Ma – our Beverage & Service Manager as well as the Club Chief Sommelier has prepared the following wine events and beverage promotion for you.  Steven is professionally qualified at The Culinary Institute of America “Certificate of Professional Wine Service and Wine & Food Pairing”.  Steven’s passion in wine has earned him the awards of Sommelier in 2006 and Senior Sommelier in 2009.

Monthly Wine Tasting

Regularly being held on the second Friday of every month, the tasting will provide more in depth analysis on the characteristics and details of the wines selected for tasting on the night.  Select wine will be available for ordering on the Monthly Home Wine Order Form.

Theme Tasting

Organised only when Wine Owner, Wine Maker or the key personnel from the winery is/are present during the tasting.  A lot of first hand direct information about the winery and the wine will be available on the night.

March & April Promotions

The class will be conducted by Carmen Tam, who was the first Hong Kong lady to receive the Certified Diploma by Springbank Distillery. Carmen is the Professional Spirit Judge from IWSC (International Wine and Spirit Competition) She is the Founder and Chairman of the Hong Kong Whisky Society.

The 90-min session will brush up your knowledge on Whisky, from the story between Scottish Whisky and Japanese Whisky, information about Blended Whisky, Blended Malt Whisky and Single Malt Whisky, the professional way to taste whisky and the order of service as well.

The history of this Port wine started in the harvest of 1867 at Quinta das Carvalhas, one of the
most emblematic estates from Alto Douro. This exquisite Port wine is the living memory of the 19th Century, a unique blend of the exceptional vintages from 1867-1900, preserved with careful and almost religious devotion at the wine cellars by the Cellar Masters generation after generations.
After 149 years ageing and in the year that the Royal Company celebrates 260 years after the foundation by Royal Charter, the destiny of this wine crosses with the history of this emblematic Company of Port Wine. Established by Royal Charter from the King D. Joseph the First on 10th September 1756, this Royal Company had the mission of establishing the Douro D.O.C., the first in the world!

This preview look is worthwhile, though. This is just beautiful. With a powerful, intense nose (the type of thing that makes old Tawnies so exceptional), it proceeds to touch all the bases. Crisp, fresh and invigorating on the palate, it also finishes with a certain unctuous, yet subtle feel. It lingers beautifully and it is just delicious for every moment that it lingers.

To make it even more extraordinary, this Crystal bottle was made by the most famous crystal manufacturer Atlantis in Portugal. The shape of the bottle was developed in Rommage of the very first Port wine bottles (according to the drawings that the winery has in record) not to forget the gold neck.
The handcrafted coffret is made in Pau Rosa, a noble wood from Brazil in homage of the first country RCV started to export its wines.
